For this slow crafted, sophisticated Singleton of Glen Ord 18 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky we allow crisp spring water from the White Burn, malted barley and yeast to work their magic in hand-crafted wooden tubs. For a day more than most distilleries they rest together to ferment. It is this patience which allows layer upon layer of sumptuous flavour to form. The Singleton of Glen Ord 18 Year Old Single Malt is enhanced by maturing fine whiskies for a minimum of 18 years and married skillfully by our Malt Master to create a divinely multidimensional Single Malt.

Taste description

Nose: Complex and well balanced. Smooth and unctuous at first, yet hinting at an intriguing dryness to come on the palate. Aromas of walnuts and polished antique oak lead into a whole bowl of dried fruits (apricots, blackcurrants, apples), followed by ginger biscuits. Later, a smoothly honeyed sweetness is cut by the cleansing freshness of crisp, newly peeled pears. Palate: Very full and cooling. A splendid mouth-coating richness with elegant orange oil and rich fruit. Becoming drying and appetising, with notes of chocolate truffle. Finish: Full, long, and finely detailed, with clear cedar notes against a smooth backdrop of fine, silky chocolate. Becomes leaner, with a memory of gingery malt; that dryness is now offset by a lingering sweetness in a polished conclusion.
